Etec Fuel gauge set up help needed

hi all have a new toy etec with digital guages
I'm asking for help from someone in the know how best to go about calibrating the fuel tank to the guages
I have the manual but just need some first hand knowledge

Only had the commander

do you no wat the sender is in your tank most motors run 240-30 ohms think etec run 33-250 not 100% dont do much with the ol etec maybe if like yami go into your gauge and calabrate to pick the sender up

The way I understand it is they do a 2, 3 or 5 point calibration.
If you have a rectangular shaped thank, then the 2 point calibration is fine because the top part of the tank holds the same amount of fuel as the bottom half of the tank. So you just empty the tank and calibrate it for empty then fill the tank and calibrate it for full.
If you have a tank that is V shaped at the bottom to follow the shape of your hull then the top part of the tank is going to hold more fuel than the bottom of the tank because it is narrower at the bottom. So the fuel gauge will go down slowly in the top part and then drop quicker when it gets down to the bottom.
By doing the 5 point calibration you manually set the empty, 25%, 50%, 75% and full positions so that the gauge will go down evenly.
To do the 5 point calibration you need to figure out the total size of your tank, then work out what the 25%, 50% and 75% size is in liters. Then empty the tank and calibrate for empty, fill it up 25% then calibrate for 25%, the fill it up to 50% and calibrate for 50%... etc
It's obviously a lot more work but gives a slightly better reading.
