yeh i was just stuck in carnarvon
you can not get into carnarvon from the south side. we met a couple of people in carnarvon and were told to go to nanutarra then go to the great northern highway. and they were only going to kalbarri.main roads reckons there are 2x 80 m chunks of road missing on the south side of carnarvon on the north west coastal.

main roads website said 900km
main roads website said 900km to by pass carnarvon. Not worth it IMO, price of petrol will be through the roof alone.

Carnarvon
If you are travelling to Exmouth you have to take the inland route.
The NW Coastal hwy is expected to be re opened early in the new year as a daylight only with many 1.5 vehicle wide side tracks in use untill it dries out some more to allow the main bits to repaired
At the moment it is only emergency vehicles and road trains allowed in from Minillya and only in daylight hour as well.
