Exmouth Trip????
Submitted by Blank Cheque on Sun, 2009-05-31 14:25
I am planning a family trip to Exmouth next year around May towing the boat and tenting it.
Was wondering if anyone would like to have some input on what they thought would have been a nice to have on their trip, or found that they needed something but never thought they would have. Thought this might be a good time since things are still fresh in the mind of those that have just returned.
Thankyou in advance.
Garry

A good arm!
haha - I'll make it next year!
Drink holder spike for the sand. Big enough to accomodate a stubby holder and on the other side to accomodate a glass of wine.....for later in the night.
Have to bend/weld up some when the wing is better.
100% on the chairs too Noha.
Cheers Pete

plenty of light
we spent 5 months in the kimberlies with 3 kids you can never get enough light we used 12v fluros work great and i recomend going to jcar and buy some cig lighter male and female sockets to make your own 12v extension cords the leads on 12v products are never long enough! and 100% on the chairs make sure everyone with u has a comfy chair or u will never get them out of yours! and 1 or more of those big 20 0r 30 litre flexible plastic buckets with the handles on each side great for everything they almost squash flat great for washing, dishes, fishing or whatever they rock!
A1 quality plasterboard installed if needed shops offices housing u won't find better quality or value with my work! Ceiling master!

exy in a tent
Carpet!! sounds stupid but at the end of the day out in the boat you want to kick off your boat shoes and relax, plenty of sand and grit up there and some times you just need a break from it , take up some old stuff for the main area and at the end of the trip , leave it at the tip or the neighbours tent site

i would suggest the light
i would suggest the light house caravan park unless your looking at going from the marina all the time, tantas ramp was ok for us and we pulled a 23footer out with a navara no probs but you will need a 4x4

exmouth site
unless your a town dweller, i would go the lighthouse c park, 17 km to tantibitti ramp and 3 kms to bundegi ramp nice surroundings and basic shop and fuel on site otherwise its another 17 kms into town, great beach right across the road

I think you may have trouble
I think you may have trouble launching and retreaving your boat at Tandabidi ,have seen some big ones launch there but the big cats not to sure about, may have some trouble with the drive on.

Take a kite with you so you
Take a kite with you so you dont get bored with all the wind that generates up that way.
And an umbrella for shade from the lack of trees which i assume the wind blew down:P
