Reminds me of Busselton
Can't remember the year but a whale washed up down Busselton way quite a few years ago. Local council called HMAS Leeuwin and asked if it could help get rid of whale, back came reply, certainly not a problem.
Long story short bits of whale lobbed in the Hamlin bay caravan park on cars the road and most other places within a couple of hundred yards.
Lesson learned.... whales and explosives (especially military type) do not mix
