Yeah I have heard the berkely

Yeah I have heard the berkely gulp 7'' nuclear chicken soft plastics are very productive. Can someone please tell me what jig head weight would be suitable for this type of plastic? I am keen to chase demersals in 30 - 50m of water so I would imagine it would need to have a bit of weight for it to get to the bottom.

It's time to leave the bait at home and have a fair dinkum crack at these artificial baits. :-)

Cheers in advance.

You will need all different weights from 1oz to 6oz. Use the lightest you can to get to the bottom. It all depends on conditions. I generally use 4 or 6oz with the mambas and 1-4oz in the smaller sizes in those depths.

I usually use a 2oz head in about 40m of water. Just cast into your drift so by the time it hits bottom, your boat is over the top.

11 inch is overkill in my

11 inch is overkill in my opinion and alot of money spent on only two plastics per packet in which mccarthys are very good plastics but very weak and can end quickly. Better hope u know there is a monster dhuie with a  monster gob to grab it before anything else does but thats just me.When the sambos werent hitting jigs they definitely smashed those 11 inch mccarthys. For me baby elf mccarthys and the pearl ones and the orange bullhead minnows. The new zmans are awsome and very strongg but lately the new 160mm squidgie wrigglers are killer (orange ones and gold) to. Theyre quite weak but cheap cheap and get ya fair share per packet.

Haven't Given the ""Hot Orange "" a try. Have stuck with the ''Red Mullet "" seems to work for me.
