Few pics from the Montes
Submitted by dodgy on Sat, 2010-11-20 11:15
Did a quick weekend trip to the Montes a couple of weeks ago. Weather was pretty bad with the wind barely dropping below 30 knots.
Fortunately this place offers plenty of options for when it is blowing so got the chance to explore areas that we might not have usually visited.
Apologies for the quality of the pics. Didnt really put too much effort in getting the shots this time.

some good pics there Dodgy, something we never find time to do is sight see and go for a walk. Gotta check out the bomb ruins next time.
I thought you'd be covered up after last trips heat stroke though.

Managed to not get heat
Managed to not get heat stroke this time Tim. Did wear a shirt for most of the time and put sunscreen on even. This boat was a bit flasher than mine, it had shade.
Was actually a good thing with the weather not letting us go offshore. Meant we were forced to look a bit harder at the inshore options. Found some great little spots that will be stored away for future trips.

Got a few crays. Prob 6 or so. No real size to them though. Straight on the hotplate with garlic butter or chilli sauce as soon as they came over the side.

Goolies
Covering your goolies with your hands in the sixth pic isn't going to stop them getting a dose of radiation. LOL
Some good pics there, no need to worry about taking better ones.

Yeah, launched from
Yeah, launched from Fortescue. Your cat would be a handful to get in that ramp. Trip is totally weather dependant for the 80km trip. Last couple of times I've travelled at night. Allowed half hour to navigate the rivermouth and another half to weave in between the islands with the spottie. 3 hours travel or so all up.
