Finally a Phucking Fish!

Well after almost 12 months of catching stuff all after many attempts and many $$$'s, (one Taylor in Cervantes, three sharks in Broome on a charter, nothing on another charter in Darwin and one herring at Garden Island) I have finally caught something interesting!!!

Wifey and I took a trip to Rotto on Monday for a dive, but 10 minutes she saw a shadow and gave me the sign that we were heading back to the boat now. So instead of wasting the whole day, we trawled in 20m of water from Parker Point to Stragglers.

Just as we were bomby dodging and i was about to pull in my line on the inshore side of Stragglers, i managed to pick up this beauty.

The rod i got as a prezzie 6 years ago and have NEVER had a hook up on it, so i was rather pleased.

Hopefully the cursed rod is no more.

Nice snook there. Looks pretty decent compared to the Halco Laser Pro lure.

Good to eat on its own or used as bait for snappers and other reefies.

Well done mate keep trying... I know how it feels to go out time after after time and get nothing only to see other people at the boat ramp with massive Dhuies, Snapper & Baldies Bagged out and Bragging... I kept persisting and kept researching this forum and others & also like you spent $$$$$ but now I'm finally starting to get some rewards...

And keep trying. reward comes to those that persist, and you catch nada if you dont have a line in the water.

In South Africa smoked snook is a delicasy.

 gotta be happy to finally

Thu, 2013-01-31 18:42

gotta be happy to finally christen the rod after 6 years. well done.

As one old salt on here said to me once, "its not the end result, ist the journey getting there".

keep persisting and as long as you enjoy getting out on or in the water it doesnt matter how many or how big a fish you get as long as your happy doing what your doing.
