Hahahaha glad you can get rid of your #$%* so easily. Give firefox another go in a couple of years, reckon its heaps better with most things once you get your head around it. plus you can add a lot of stuff to your firefox browser and make everything easier. Stopped using microsoft coz its got so much processing freakin takes too long. Pros and cons for both:)

Sorry Mav - knowing you, that would have been a bit untidy in the pooter room.

Actually, I think Firefox is good for multithread downloading image intensive (etc) web pages.

It does save pages.

Multithreading....FF

Fri, 2008-01-25 19:04

This is NOT mine - got it elsewhere, did it and FF hummed:

Firstly download and install Firefox, but keep Internet Explorer as a second browser.
Secondly, this info is freely available on the web, I am simply putting this info here because quite frankly, it works and it works well....oh and the best things in life are free.

OK.
This simple tutorial WILL speed up your browser, and WILL make it load pages much, much faster. It takes only about 10mins to do, is safe, and you dont need to be a computer whiz to do it, and you will be very surprised at the results. This will only work with Firefox, and you must have a broadband connection.

!! THIS IS FOR MOZILLA FIREFOX - NOT INTERNET EXPLORER !!!

1.Type about:config into the address bar and hit enter. Scroll down and look for the following entries:

network.http.pipelining
network.http.proxy.pipelining
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

2. Alter the above entries as follows: (simply double click on entry to change values)

Set network.http.pipelining to true

Set network.http.proxy.pipelining to true

Set network.http.pipelining.maxrequests to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.

3. Now, right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it nglayout.initialpaint.delay and set its value to 0 (zero). This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.

4. Again, anywhere on the page , Right-click, select New-> Boolean, Name it: network.http.pipelining.firstrequest
and Set to True

5. Right-click again (anywhere), select New-> Boolean, Name it: browser.turbo.enabled
and Set to True

You must close and restart firefox for changes to take effect.

ps. copy paste and print this out, makes it bit easier to do.
