My boys first tournament

My boys first tournament

I took my son Jaxon out in the boat today for his first ever fishing tournament. We had a Kid's Fishing Tournament for 4 - 15 yr olds. He turned four in January and has been looking forward to it since then. Well he has started his tournament record in impressive style taking out 2nd place with a nice Maori Wrasse (yes they are legal to take here).  The fishing was restricted to inside the barrier reef so it was mostly bait fishing. Jaxon was more than happy to let me hook them and then he would take over and wind them in. Five hours in a boat with a four year old, I should be claim his prize..... He won a Diawa Shock 2000 -3Bi reel and a 6' Diawa Shock 602MLRS rod. Do I need to say I was proud of the young fella. May it be the start of many successful Father and Son fishing trips.

Back

Did my back a little while back. Three weeks in hospital and I couldn't be bothered to shave off. It'll go before work on Tuesday. I only got off the plane from Aust on Friday, fishing with the lad on Saturday. Luckily it was inside the reef as I'm pretty sure that I'm not up for any rough stuff just yet. Next weekend.....
