i have only seen the 100 in
i have only seen the 100 in 1 night once.
i think this was an honest mistake that could have been costly monetary wise as well as the pride of catching a big silver bream that turned into a juvi pinkie. no harm done in this apart from the fish that is. At least he has hung around and not spat it as others would

Nice fish James. Sounds like the guys have helped you with your identification for future.
This one can stay, the other has gone as a few people have PM'd me regarding the 'racist' over tones.

Welcome James
Well you've certainly made an entrance to the site ! Welcome !
You are obviously a young guy who likes to fish ,and there's a lot of other young guys and girls on this site like you....... who enjoy fishing and probably Boubon as well.
Befriend a few of the other guys on this site and I'm sure you will pick up a lot of knowledge about tackle , species etc.

Im with Indiana, The faulkners etc
We all make mistakes. Mine could have been very painful. Have fished since I was six, but moved around from SAf to NZ and then here. Fished everywhere but it obviously took some time to know and recognize the different species. My first beach fish was at Avalon Beach and I hooked into something nice. Got it up on the sand and thought what a strange looking catfish. Was going to proudly pick it up when the locals all had a fit about the fact that I was in danger, and henceforth I knew cobbler fairly well.
If he is a new fisho it takes time to learn, and the knob is not him, its his mate who should know better. Give him a break and welcome to the site.
By the way Luke t, I hate to break it to you, but those arent peanuts!!!!!!!

I think even I could tell
I think even I could tell the difference between these two fish! You've gotta be careful. You can't afford to make mistakes in the fishing world. Not in Australia with the strict laws we have. Having said that, both species do look similar at that size, so perhaps an easy mistake to make if you've never gone fishing before.
