FIRST TIME DEEP DROP

First time out behind rotto (fished out unless you no what ur doing) 300m 600m chasing blue eye, grey band etc all we got were sharks every drift(3 circle rig 1.5kg sinker) looked every where first time out that deep..

First drop 3 F**K Sharks better than nothing but. As far as i now the the sharks we were getting are spiny dogfish plus one sliced my arm. mother f**ker but that was it tryed ever where. I know fishing is called fishing for a reason. We tryed we didnt fall (sort off) i cant wait to get back out there. Might need to go deeper or further away from perth. I would love to catch a couple of rubys

First lesson about trying deepwater fishing, don't expect to catch first mission out there unless you have been given spots.  Its hours and hours of searching and looking and searching and looking, once you find what you are looking for it is a seriously rewarding feeling!

Super deep!

Wed, 2012-08-15 22:11

What Adam said is so correct, its a time game and I have many regular customers of mine chasing Super deep fish and after like 10-15 trips their getting fish "Now"

It pays off for sure but one thing Super Deep fishers need to understand is that its completely different to normal fishing and thats where it begins

After many years of doing the Super deep on baits & Super Deep on jigs I can say dedicate yourself and crack the code.......well worth it

Wed, 2012-08-15 23:52

After many many years out there I have cracked the code and always catch super deep fish every trip!

Getting them on jig always tests me but I get results

If you have a swag of marks given to you, your set but if not its all hard work but awesome when you get results.

Green eyes! the commercials call them Spurdogs. Fisheries say there a commercially threatened species. I not sure about that.

So having never seen one of these green eyes - where's this spike located and is it poisonous or just sharp?

Going to have a crack at some (sort of) deep jigging on the weekend and dont want to be writing a report on Monday about how some bastard shark sliced me

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

My mate

Has spent countless trips out deep for no results until a few weeks ago, he will head deep sound around for the day back to rotto to sleep and back out the next  day if the weather plays the game. he was stoked with these two going in at 16kg, small i know compared to the others that pop up here but i was happy for him as it can get you down not catching fish. Ryan might have seen his face a few times as tells me he's always trying to gain a few helpful tips. thought i would chuck a photo up as he's not a member, YET.

 Its a hard game Fishing.
