Fish the continental shelf drop-off

Has anyone fished the drop-off just south of the Abrolhos Islands (Southern Group)? Any advise would be appreciated.

Deep dropping
Any information would be good. Although I have fished for many years, this is something I have never tried. I have just aquired a boat that will allow me to reach the Islands and in good conditions go around to the west side. I have been to the southern group twice about ten years ago. Cannot wait to get back there. Would be good to join a small group of boats. I always place safety first.

The 200m + area looked great
The 200m + area looked great but we couldn't get a bait past the pinkies.

I can remember pioneering wetliners doing it.
First place I had ever seen Ruby Snapper reported from, the Cockmans ( wetlining in the off-season) were experimenting out there late nineties/early noughties, IIRC. it was around/just before I started crayfishing out of there early in whites, which would have been 1999?

Same as Crikey, lots of pinks
Same as Crikey, lots of pinks then a big 8 bar that blew the 10kg limit so went back to chasing trout.
