Hey Guys,
Looking to use some of your wisdom/experience regarding getting a fish finder for the tub.
There is a Lowrance Elite 5 dsi that is for sale on gumtree, anybody got one? Worth it? Dont Bother?
Looking forward to the advice.

I can't comment on the combo
I can't comment on the combo as I went for separate units - FCV 627 fish finder, but the Elite 5 GPS/chartplotter is a great unit, simple to use & I've had no problems in the 3 yrs I've been using it.

depends on your what your
depends on your what your looking at doing , experience
cant go past a furuno
i only have a fcv-620 furuno sounder which once on the right settings are quiet easy to read i prefer the old model as with the new model the depth cuts threw the soundings on bottom lock which is the main function i use i think thats due to the new ground graph (gravel/sand ect) and you cant miniumise the size of the displayed depth enough
have a simrad nss7 as a plotter/GPS

I have the 5xdsi
For the money they are reasonable and give great definition of structure in shallow water. Max depth is only 76m.

elite5
I have the elite 5 combo in my dinghy, it is a good unit for a tinnie but if you have a bigger boat I would get something larger. When using split screen on it, it is very hard to navigate on the gps due to the small size of the display.
