I remember a thread a while back, under I think " a night in Lancelin" something like that, looks similar, from memory they called it a sandbass

haha very funny!
just been going through the search on sand bass and some say they don't taste bad.
was about a foot long and made a decent account for itself but lived to fight another day.

not too sure mate
use to see hundreds of them diving last year around shark bay, also caught a couple. if you said one around 1ft long that would be one of the larger specimens
