Fishing 13th July - Slow Day

Was very slow early on, especially in closer. Failed to pick up anything good inside direction bank.

Moved out a bit deeper, and it was still slow going with a few pinks being caught.

We moved spots and started catching a few Leatherjackets, we lost about 5.

Still kept catching a few pinkies aswell as a few red snapper, Biggest was 3.2kg.

Fished to 5pm and came home with a feed

Cheers
Dean & Steve

Good haul guys!

That water doesn't look to bad, but then I find choppy water can look good in a pic.

LOL, we gone from the 'std' paver shot, to the 'framed' paver shot. Laughing

Laetherjackets

Mon, 2008-07-14 17:13

Yeah, thought that might be the case. We get some monsters down here. There's one spot down in Albany - Isthmus Bay just round from bald head. We've fished in there 3 times and each time (not) hooked into loads of big LJs and lost a lot of hooks.

Mon, 2008-07-14 18:38

Yeah we were fishing relatively shallow and didn't expect to pick up those, as we haven't in the past.

Will be better prepared next time.

Those are bloody big leatherjackets. You pay top dollar for those in the fish markets over east.

You need to hold ALL the fish up Dean (hang them off you with rope if need be) and take one good pic........paver issue sorted.......hehehe Tongue out

GREAT STUFF

Wed, 2008-07-16 18:27

Pretty damn good day out for you and your young bloke mate, and a well deserved catch, just makes up for all those trips where you cant get out or catch very little.

Top effort.
