Bob got this book (his bible)
This it the one Bob uses
The Marine and Estuarine Fishes of South-Western Australia, (Carnarvon down) It has also the food guide for eating from 1 star to 4 star rating for eating etc.
A Field Guide for Anglers and Divers
written by Barry Hutchins and Martin Thompson
Western Australian Museum 1983, thats how long Bob's had this edition. I would image a good book store would have it, may have been reprinted
There is also one for north of Carnarvon also .. think Carnarvonite might be able to help you.

The one Roberta suggested is
The one Roberta suggested is probably the go.
Theres also the fil-o-fish which has hundreds upon hundreds of species, all with colour photos and info (incl eating quality). Good for ID too. Covers all of Australia, so might be more than you need.
As regs change over time, its best to get the most recent limits from the local tackle shop. Their ID guide might be helpful, but doesnt have eating qualities
