Fishing Buffs/Bandanas interested to hear from those that use them

Hi guys,
So after getting my face a little sunburnt/windburnt on a relatively cool day (tues) I'm looking into a buff to use whilst I'm out on the boat. I'm hoping it will also cut out the reflecting UV's from the water too. Wanted to see what the people that use them think. I know they're not a fashion item but I don't really care how I look when I'm fishing, its function over form for me. If anyone can recommend a brand that'd be great too.
Cheers,
Steve

I use mine on hotter days, so haven't use it recently but found if have it over your nose it fogs up your glasses but still rate it as a good protective item to have.

Yeah they're worth giving a go, i use one sometimes and they definitely work for sun protection. Only problem i have is when i put it on so it covers my nose it seems to ride up a bit and get in the way of your vision. I take it off if the fishing is good

I used to where them alot on
I used to where them alot on the jetski and boat but noticed I get seasick much more often when wearing one. The buff prevents me from the fresh air and seaspray on the face that keeps me refreshed. If I wasnt a spewer I'd wear one all the time, just not down to the local servo..

Wore one for the first time
During Gamex this year and gotta say was very happy , 4 outa 6 guys on the boat wound up wearing them , staring into the sun watching the spread running WNW to ESE coming in from 1500mtrs to the 500mtr line for an hour at a time saved me looking like a cooked prawn , also the sweat helped to cool you down with a breeze , washed every day as well LOL
Just one more cast , honest !!!

Thanks for the comments guys.
Thanks for the comments guys. Think I'm gonna grab one and give it a trial run. I seem to do ok with sea sickness atm but if it gives me dramas i'll definitely be looking at an alternative.

To be honest I really hate
To be honest I really hate wearing them, but I still wear them whenever I am on a casting trip (i.e. on a boat with no canopy).
I just find them annoying to breathe through, and really fog up your glasses. That being said they will be with me for every day of my upcoming couple of Oman trips!
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

i wear one all the time now..
i hate suncream all over my face and neck so it was a no brainer for me.. i do still have to put the suncream on my snorkel, as it does fog up the sunnies as others has mentioned..
and you can wet it down when it gets really hot too.

I'm on the Ski for hours sometimes, and also wanted something that gave me a bit more fresh air.
I have been using the Frillneck Hat - UPF50+.
Here's a link showing the different ways to wear it,either full wrap around or open face:

We've found the
We've found the Simms Sungaiters (http://www.simmsfishing.com/shop/headwear/sungaiter-2.html) to be the best - they have holes where they sit over your mouth so do not fog glasses and are shaped so they can sit over the top of a shirt/collar keeping you fully protected (unlike the Buffs you see in so many photos inside the collar of a fishing shirt while the small V underneath it above the second button gets burnt!)

Good
They are great I wear 2 at once now - one over my head and one on neck and pull them down/up to sunglasses. No cracked lips burnt head etc, although can require adjustment or try not to breath so heavy if u don't want fogged sunnies. And once or twice if you are in a wet type of boat and smashing into it you can waterboard yourself a little if they get soaked. Saves you wondering if it was the sunscreen on your hands that is the reason you are getting nothing.

Yes my main problem with sunscreen is that I get too occupied with getting out to the spot and then setting up and fishing and normally just plain forget.
