Fishing Charter Work

Taking a year off next year from school etc.
Was thinking of getting a job on a charter.
Just wondering if anyone could help me out.
We be in contact with a few of the bigger ones which are North of river.
mills, all seasons, deap sea and exec, etc.

Well....Im sure there's a few looking for deckies as they dont have permanent deckies but I must warn you that its not easy work. Pretty hard not to fish while you watch everyone hauling them in.

Great way to learn the ropes
Great way to learn the ropes of how it works and have fun doing what you love! You will meet all different types of characters and funny techniques that will keep you amused! Let us know if you get a job and ill come out with ya......cheers and good luck mate.

I'll be giving a load of them a call, Still have exams and stuff to do and I should have my licence before december. So hopefully I'll have a job before next year!

Yeh good luck Dean, knock on all doors and see what happens. I've worked on a charter boat before and the money is okay but a good lifestyle for sure. Working your way up can be rewarding and offer you plenty of avenues but if you get a foot in the door and your serious then do the Challenger TAFE courses!

My plans are finish this
My plans are finish this year at school, and then do 1 year of charter work. Then off to Tasmania to the Australian Maritime college for a degree in fisheries.
On adverage Ryan or anyone - what sort of money can you expect for a days work?

I'm out of touch now mate but i'd say about $100 plus (ball park) per day, the more certificates you have the more you can get/earn longterm!
