I was listening to the podcast which had the judge who discovered the cheats and he was very open about his method to discover the cheats. Basically he weighs fish all day every day for these competitions and he knows within a pound how much they should weigh per given length. He kind of anticipated it happening because the guys needed a bag of X weight or more to stand any chance of winning the competition. Then all of a sudden they weigh 5 fish that appear to be about 4lb each but the bag weighs 30lb??

It's fraud as these contests
It's fraud as these contests are for thousands of dollars and they should be criminaly prosecuted. The fish are still alive and they are forcing lead weights down their throats, then shoving fish fillets on top so you can't see the weight.

I read that those guys made over US $300k from tournaments last year. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you!

Reminds me of 80s when you got paid per weight of your cans. A couple of wrapped up old sinkers here and there and you had enough for an extra Mars Bar or 2

Cans
Used to fill a wool pack with cans and when ready to take them in would stick it under the sprinkler fror hour or so to fill some up with water and wet the sack for extra weight

Growing up on a farm in NZ, we used to get 5 x .22 or 1 x 12 ga cartridge per possum or rabbit tail tip.
So as young blokes we'd cut them off every road kill we came across on the gravel roads
Then leave the bag in the sun to get smelly then take them to the council office and the front counter lady would never count them
Give a man a mask, and he'll show you his true face...
The older you get the more you realize that no one has a f++king clue what they're doing.
Everyone's just winging it.

Surely in a competition
Surely in a competition where there is so much money at stake, simply waving a cheap metal detector over or cutting open the top 5 fish would be a simple rule?
Like drug testing athletes
