Fishing out of Hillarys tomorrow
Submitted by Poppy on Fri, 2015-07-17 10:23
What is the verdict for tomorrow? The wind looks good but how will the swell behave? I have a 4.5m f/g dinghy and was hoping to get out before sunrise. Any advice, please.
Thanks
Baz

G'day Baz
If you head out of Hillarys and go down to the south cardinal (out from Trigg) its all safe water. Thats the way I always head out pre dawn. Tomorrows conditions should be fine for an anchor and burley session on the 3 mile or a drift over the sandy areas behind the reef for bread and butter species in your boat :) I'll be launching at Hillarys at 5am and will be heading that way for a Rottnest run. More than happy for you to follow me out around the south cardinal. Safe to fish around there until sun up. When you can see what the swell is doing you can decide if you want to move in closer to shallow areas near the reef.

Thanks Rosie
My fishing mate is getting to my place at 5.30am, so you will be long gone, but I appreciate your offer. I intended to anchor up out from MAAC on the 3 mile and try for the usual suspects. Good luck.
