Hi all, I'm heading to Shark Bay in October for the first time and was wondering if anyone could give me some local information on good boating spots to try etc! I'll be situated in Denham.
Would apprecaite the help.

Try!
With your size boat you can go across to Dirk Hartog Isl, pick a good day (Oct can be dicey), its about 20nm, you can get tailor, pink snapper, blue linned emperor, mulloway, tuna, mackerel, cobia etc . Fish the reefs & banks with the marker beacons/poles out from Denham being good for mulloway & snapper.....especially at night, just berley up lightly!
You can also launch from Monkey Mia, Faure island is a good spot for blue linned emperor, pink snapper, trevally, cod and just fish around the channels near the island, anchor berley again. Use your sounder also to find the fish and drop off's....you dont need much structure to hold fish up there. You can troll around for tailor and spotted mackerel with a chance of a cobia or spaniard.
All the best, PM me if ya need more info!

Fished there a few times and
Fished there a few times and like ryan said the fish arnt to hard to find.......we just found some good drop offs to 2metres and caught good fish. Just couldnt get through all the pinkys and spotted mackies to see what else was around. Awsome ground straight off the jetty at monkey mia about 3nm off.........fish everywhere! I also did some diving and there was blue mannas everywhere and a array of awsome sea snakes and reef fish, well worth the swim......just watch for the tigers as there not to far away.lol. Tailor off the beach just north of the beach where they feed the dolphins. When there on there on up there we got 30 3kd tailor in about 1.5hours! Bluddy every where and good for catch and release fishing, good fun.
PS; the locals are pretty good at telling you were the fish are biting as well so dont be affraid to ask.
Keep it tight, reeeeeeel tight!

far!
Yeh I was going to suggest Turtle Bay/Cape Inscription which is a great spot but Higgo's 16ft (if ya still got that) isn't good for a 40nm (80 plus round NM) trip from Denham!
