hey all
so with such nice wheater this weekend who got out there and took advantage of it and landed some nice fish???
and where are the photos and stories?

14 Squid, one cuttle fish
Flangies 11 Squid, One Cuttlefish, Me 3 Squid, including biggest of the day!
Tough work in the small boat. Really only 4 drifts, two near the mussel farm at the north end of garden island first up and two north of woodmans pt in the afternoon. We fished for a while in the semi lee of gi just south of the jetty in between. Not much action except for one herring, wrasse and an undersize skippy. Herring was livebaited, Flangies caught either the squid that was hanging on it or his mate after it dropped off boatside on the retrieve. Slow pace back to woodies to the lee of woodman pt to head back to the weedbanks. Pretty busy with Kayaks, dinghies all hiding from the nw'er.
Headed north of woodies to get out of the traffic with James getting a tad wet (Sorry! haha not!) Anyway effort for reward and James caught several squid here.
Big plate of salt and pepper squid and salad about 15 mins ago. NOMNOMNOM

no photo's but did some more fishing over the weekend,
saturday started at the canning bridge fished there from 11 til 2 with no luck this time(althought a group of people managed to get 5 decent sized bream right next to me) then headed to east perth managed 2x 24cms and a legal 25cm
today went off hillarys on teh boat, lots of little reef fish straight out just past the breakers but nothing to exciting and then went towards scarbs managed a dozen herring, 3 whiting, 2 king george (32cm and 38cm) and a nice pike of 62cm along with a couple undersize pinkies

picked up plenty of squid
picked up plenty of squid and herring. tried both as live bait with no results. all land based. dissapointing

went friday night for some
went friday night for some bream with some mates, got some decent ones around 27cm, then in the last 10 minutes a mate got a huge one im guessing around 43-45cm easily over 1kg...biggest bream ive ever seen.

fishing sunday
went out from rocko yesterday it was a bit lumpy so we just headed to the nearest spots in 45m fist drop got a black ass and a small dhu (released) then it whent pritty dead with a good flathead and a whiskery yum average speed for the day was only 10knots but we got a feed and we were not at work ha ha

Sat : Got 14 squid & 1 cuttlefish around woodys point on the yak... also had a couple of big salmon chasin sp's but couldn't bloody hook them... probably a good thing as i accidentally put a drop of superglue on my sol2000's line roller...
Sun : Took the GF out squidding on the big yak... she caught 3.. i ended up with 10 and 5 cuttlefish :) great day out on the water :)
Sun night : Cooked up squid tubes stuffed with cuttlefish, dhufish, bread crumbs and the rest... Oh yeh!

Pretty quiet out that way, probably due to the tide.
Truck loads of fish on the sounder but not real interested, guessing pinkys by the way they seemed to school.
Lost a horse of a fish which I'd say either monster pink or dhu, landed probably 6-8 swallow tail between 35-40cms and 2 Dhu's, 1 undersize and the other around the 600 which was kept for a little bit of fresh fish for dinner last night.

looks lik the squid were going OFF, i wish i could go out :(
next weekend better be good or im not gonna be happy. i want some squid out from ocean reef.
does anyone know where you can get them close in???, with in distance of a 12ft tinny.

headed off mindarie pretty quiet all day but managed a dhu 600 and a pinky of about 3 kilo all day pretty annoyingly quiet but a good day out none the less laughed my arse off at the di$%head sunk on the ramp though!!!

went today to woodmans point rock groyne. middle of the day, plenty of herring around. took home 12 myself. Were biting the whole time, some big ones too. Sadly no squid for me today :(

sunday morning headed out to about 45m behind rotto landed good sized baldchin groper 1 black ass cod and released large port jackson shark.A little lumpy in morning but trip back was a bit quicker

Headed out from the cut for
Headed out from the cut for the first time on Sunday. Got soaked by the rain and found not much ground in the 40s SW of the cut so decided to head north doing some sounding. Threw a lure out and hooked two nice Bluefin Tuna. Found some ground late with a small dhue and a coupla small pinks but they lived to grow another day.
