Fishwrecked EXXY Comp
Hi Guys/Gals,
Just trying to do some organising for the Exmouth comp in terms of prizes. Could all skippers/deckies sort out their entry fees so that I know how much we can put into each section, please send me a PM so we can sort it out. Its going to be much easier doing it over the next few weeks and will save a lot of hassle rather than doing it the night before the comp. The entry fees are $10 per person, if you wish to give more it all goes to boosting the prize kitty
Can members also please get themselves a ruler to measure demersal fish, as it will be a photo based comp on sizes, rather than weight.
Assuming there are 50 people thats $500 - which can be $50 worth of prizes for 8 sections and 1 $100 prize. Here's a basic idea of what I'm thinking.
Biggest Marlin = $50
Biggest Sailfish = $50
Most Billfish Caught and Released = $100
Biggest Red Emperor = $50
Biggest Spangled Emperor = $50 + Fisheries research shirt/stubby holders
Biggest Spaniard/Wahoo = $50
Biggest Dolphinfish = $50
Biggest Rankin Cod = $50
Biggest Landbased fish = $50
Biggest Tuna = 3 Daiwa Long Sleeve Shirts +
Biggest Coral Trout = Large print of u/w Trout photo
The Faulkner Family has also donated $100, so they can choose where that money goes or create their own prize fish.
This is just a vague idea of how things will be broken up. If there is more than the $500 donated, which looks like there will be (thanks Pilbarabrad) then the prizes for each section can be boosted or we can add a couple more sections.
I also want to know, apart from Pete D/NOHA/Scottynofish who else will be staying in town or is everyone at the lighthouse? Just so we can organise a get together the night before the comp and a night afterwards.
Cheers,
Adam

Adam, that looks good but i think with the cod it should also cover the other types of cod as they will be a by-catch. just my thaught anyway , also will there be something for the biggest trev (all types)

Hi Russ
Yeh, I'm sure we can do something for biggest trevally.
As for cod I don't really want to promote the catch of the big malabars or estuaries, I know they are often bycatch out there, but I'd much prefer to see them put back as soon as they come up rather than be brought on board, then measured and photo'd.
