Hey fellas when I come over in August I will be spending 2 or 3 nights in Broome. I have heard the pier is good for trevs and queenies? How should I target these and is it better at day or night. Wouldnt mind a shark either, i reckon they would be better at night?? If anyone wants to meet me down there and have a fish and a beer then PM me and I will let you know where and when..I coul;d use some local knowledge LOL!!
Cheers Rayman

Cos we dont have the opportunity here everyday to do it, they fight well and look good! Obviously I would like to catch some of your more popular species but if you dont catch them everyday then its a challenge isn't it?

You should try and get on a charter up there Roger
They put on some pretty hot fishing.
If you are going to fish the jetty you need to get hold of the tide times. There are massive tide movements up that way. You want a good strong rod too as the fish tend to run straight for the pylons.

I tried heaps of spots last
I tried heaps of spots last time I was in Broome, but the jetty was the only one that produced. Checked all the right spots/tides/lures. Tried the rocks at cables on the incoming tide and you could see queenies jumping out of the water, but out of casting range unfortunately.
Found jigging white leadheads at the end of the jetty on sunset was the best sucess (matched reasonably well with the tide, but still a bit of a current and murky water). Trevs around 5-6kg and 1m queenies. Helps if you have a cliff gaff or get friendly with someone with one.
