Hey All
The boys and i are keen to get a line wet this weekend, as its been blowing its arse off, and will continue all bloody weekend, looks like were land bound. The boys are keen to get stuck into some flattie tails so was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on where to go, apart from the fresh food section of coles !!! hahah cheers for the help guys.

there's so much good fish in
there's so much good fish in the pilbara that I've never bothered to chase flatties before... I've caught them, but only as a by-catch.
Maybe try fishing around some mangrove flats with shallow lures, small RMG's etc.. You could always get some fresh mullet and throw a small fillet out onto the flats. Would also be in with a chance at a threadie or two as well..
perhaps I ought to give flatties a crack... see how much of a challenge they are to target when the weathers too crap to head out and chase GTs.

There is a lot of flatties
There is a lot of flatties in the sandy bays all along that coast. I have caught bartails to 55cm on many of the beaches behind Wickham and Cossack. All the usual stuff works, small minnows or lead head jigs.

Dampier creeks
My mate Rob and I were fishing the mouth of the Dampier creeks about a month ago. It looked like good flat head ground. We were just playing with softies and didnt get anything huge but it is good to go there and drag some lures along the banks. Usually pick up small trevally.Queenies and generally a couple of decent cod on the way in. Get in close to the bank but watch out there are a few rocks. It is always a good spot if the wind is blowing and you need to go fishing.Close to home too.
