Flies in Dunsborough Bunker Bay?

Does anybody know what the flies are like down there at the moment? Im thinking of taking the family down to bunker bay for the weekend but Ive heard the flies can be really bad this time of year.

The more tourists you get down there is better because they will eat more of the little black buggers.

The flies get blown across Geographe bay by the easterlies and find themselves in the peppermint trees from Dunsborough through Meelup, Eagle Bay and Bunker Bay waiting for someone's mouth or eyes to walk into.

Flies in Dunsborough Bunker Bay?

Hi Grant ,

Go to a stockfeed place & see if you can get some fly cream called ' Natures Botanical '  . Just dip finger tip & wipe a small amount on your nose , cheeks ,

chin & a dab behind the ears . Keeps flys away for hours . All natural oils .

To alleviate the annoyance of flies, mix one part of cement with four parts of water, mix thoroughly and drink as needed.

Was there yesterday and wasn't too bad I thought, but then it was pretty windy and crowded as mentioned so probably spread around many faces! Not bad enough to put me off going there though. If driving there get there early as not much parking! If in boat then no worries!

Yep that's the shit!!! Use it all the time. About 3 years ago I bought 100 50gram tubs for $6 each. When the job was done we split the rest and down to my last tubs now. Horsey people use it for their horses

Dungies start to come out in January and it's usually quite noticible with the fly numbers when they start.

Have been doing some work at Premier Coal in Collie the last month and flies have been horrendous until last week, not a single fly. So shouldn't be too long now for the coastal areas to see a reduction.

Nice spot if you have some time off . Last Friday was really bad but today they're almost back to normal

Not too busy either but that might change closer to new years

If I wasn't back to work I would still be there

went for a day trip in the southwest yesterday, dropped by at bunker bay for a bit.

good beach and plenty of families with kids.

Flies were horrendous, although not as bad as some in perth that go into your ears and nose.
