Boat Purchase Help
if any one could offer up some advice i'd really appreciate it, looking at buying my 3rd boat something this time around the 21ft range and a budget of around 20k.
people have obiously purchased boats from interstate and overseas in the past and im just floating the idea out there for an interstate purchase for my new boat given the range over east.
Time is an issue atm given i work for myself, potetionally if its mid year could turn the trip into a holiday.
ive done some sums on fuel vs. flights etc... but what would be the best way to go about getting it back in your opinion
drive there and back with it? fly over and get it transported back? or any other options people have experience with?
i'd be really sure i'd want the hull and motor before heading over by looking at one over here and budget is for the boat purchase only.

I bought my boat from Vic. I
I bought my boat from Vic. I gave the old man(retired) a few grand to go get it for me. He had it back in a week. Driving is the cheapest option, its just whether or not you have the time. I didn't have the time but I was lucky the old boy has all the time in the world! I also bought my car from QLD, got that put on a truck/train, prices for car transport are pretty reasonable.

cheers mate yeh time is a problem now, wont be in the middle of the year though. have looked into buying a 4wd from qld in the past but ended up buying mine here.
the range in vic for boats is what got this started, wouldnt drive further than vic for the boat if i could help it.

Might have more choice but it stops being viable on cheaper rigs like something around the 20k mark. Would have to be something very specific to be worth it.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

yeh thats it, this came about because i saw a hull i really liked but it was sold when i rang up about it, the only other one for sale in my price range was in vic.
the difference in a 20k boat here and in vic seems to be a fair bit.

Transport is the killer..
Went thru the same process albeit with a more expensive boat still ended up buying local.
Transport could easily add $5k to the price so unless you can haggle down the current owner or go fetch yourself as others have said your $20k budget becomes $25k
