Footy tipping - Am I wrong

OK so I'm running a weekly tipping comp at work. It has come down to 3 tippers that can possibly win & all 3 have Collingwood by various margins - one asked what happens if Melbourne get up or there is a draw? My answer is that the person with the lowest points tipped for a Collingwood win gets the chocolates as he's the closest to the result.
Seems logical to me, but he reckons all 3 should share the winnings.
How would you play it?

Closest to the margin wins it
Closest to the margin wins it for me, if you have the decision, surely its not big bucks here, just for fun ?? Or is it jackpotted to next week ?

No jackpot - winner pockets
No jackpot - winner pockets $100 (20 Blokes @ $5)
Yeh all a bit of fun except when someone thinks there being dudded.
Clarify "Closest to the margin?"
For example
Tipper 1 has Coll' by 20 pts & tipper 2 has Coll' by 30 points. The game ends in a draw - to me tipper 1 wins has 20 so is closer to 0 than 30 - yes???? Which leads to the second
scenario Melbourne win by 30 points to me tipper 1 still wins as he is 50 points from the correct result and tipper 2 is 60 points away. Remembering his 30 points was for a Coll win by 30.

I thought the winners are
I thought the winners are decided at the end of the year.......Id go with your theory if there has to be a winner each week. Btw the dees have a habit of upsetting the pies in recent history, and given Buckley's coaching skills, I wont be suprised if the Dees get up, Carn Melbourne!
I am, as I've said, merely competent. But in an age of incompetence, that makes me extraordinary.

weekly tipping - but yeh I'm
weekly tipping - but yeh I'm with you go the Dees for 2 reasons 1) the whinger will not get the cash and 2 it helps the dockers if the pies lose.

Simple enough
For certain the margin is 20 for collingwood, ie plus 20. If dees win by 30 he is 50 off.
your real problem is if it is pies by 25, ie exactly between the two. Then you have to split the pot.
