Forget the mussels, where are the tailor and herring?
My young bloke Bill, 5, is busting to catch something on his line. The first dad and lad session last summer to Guildford, his first cast, a giant blue swimmer crab. Next cast a 44cm black bream. Dad and uncle got zero between them for the day and bless the boy, each time we see uncle, nearly a year later he still says "Remember that fish I caught and you got none?" He's been a bit traumatised because last time we fished there bout a month ago he caught a large long necked tortoise, we got the hook out but he's not keen on dad performing amatuer dentistry on another squirming, croaking reptile.
Where can we chase herring or even tailor in the metro area? Haven't got a tinnie yet but it's on the cards for Xmas. Any help would be awesome.

I havn't had any luck getting
I havn't had any luck getting any Herring anywhere for the last month or so but there's swarms of Tailor in the river. People are regularly catching 30-50 in a session. Anywhere from Burswood down to Fremantle is good for choppers. Try throwing around lures (twisty is my fav but others will work fine) or baitcasting whitebait. Usually an hour before to an hour or so after sunset is the best time but people have been catching them at all hours if you are prepared to put in a bit extra time in the middle of the day.

gday mate if u are landbased and wanna get into some tailor for the young fella i would try clearmont jetty or freshwater bay both are holding them and lods of flathead goodluck

Tailor on the River
Been looking on Google maps at Claremont Jetty and Freshwater Bay. Where abouts in Freshwater bay would you fish from?
