Our first taste...

Hi all

After hearing and reading about all the crays being caught since the season opened, I finally got out there amongst them on Saturday. We didn't have to venture too far from The Cut and although the ground was real lumpy, it only held a few...enough for a taste, at least.

Also got to christen the new shark shield and I'm happy to report that it was working just fine....I lost count of the number of times it zapped the hell out of me!

Didn't take the camera down with me because we were hell bent on trying for a feed, but sure will next time....saw a small dhuie, a monster sambo, schools of buff bream and skippy.

Cooked them on the bbq with some olive oil, pepper and salt...went down a treat.

The weather isn't looking too flash for the next few days but as soon as it clears up, we'll be out there again.

regards

Haha I hear you on the shark

Haha I hear you on the shark shield. I got the tail of mine stuck near my neck in my BCD somehow! Must have zapped me 20 times before I could get it out. I was still on the surface at this point, amusing for my mate who was waiting with the boat I'm sure

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Still waiting for a genuine

Still waiting for a genuine accidental in-water zap from mine.

I usually turn it on, do a backwards roll entry and just lob it on the way down!

Good looking BBQ action there!
