A Tale of Two Prawns

Fri, 2010-07-16 08:37

Far, far away in the tropical waters of the Coral Sea, two prawns were swimming around.  One called Justin and the other called Christian.

The prawns were constantly being harassed and threatened by sharks that inhabited the area.  Finally one day Justin said to Christian, “I'm fed up with being a prawn; I wish I was a shark, and then I wouldn't have any worries about being eaten.”

A large mysterious cod appeared and said, “Your wish is granted”.

Lo and behold, Justin turned into a shark.  Horrified, Christian immediately swam away, afraid of being eaten by his old mate.

Time passed (as it does) and Justin found life as a shark boring and lonely. All his old mates simply swam away whenever he came close to them.  Justin didn't realize that his new menacing appearance was the cause of his sad plight.

While swimming alone one day he saw the mysterious cod again and he thought perhaps the mysterious fish could change him back into a prawn.  He approached the cod and begged to be changed back, and, lo and behold, he found himself turned back into a prawn.

With tears of joy in his tiny little eyes Justin swam back to his friends and bought them all a cocktail.  (The punch line does not involve a prawn cocktail - it's much worse).

Looking around the gathering at the reef he realized he couldn't see his old pal.

“Where's Christian?” he asked.

“He's at home, still distraught that his best friend changed sides to the enemy & became a shark”, came the reply.  Eager to put things right again and end the mutual pain and torture, he set off to Christian's abode.

As he opened the coral gate, memories came flooding back.

He banged on the door and shouted, “It's me, Justin, your old friend, come out and see me again.”

Christian replied, “No way man, you'll eat me. You're now a shark, the enemy, and I'll not be tricked into being your dinner.”

Justin cried back “No, I'm not. That was the old me. I've changed.”.........

(You're going to love this...............................)

A married couple were asleep

Fri, 2010-07-16 09:25

A married couple were asleep when the phone rang at 2 in the morning.
The wife (undoubtedly blonde), picked up the phone, listened a moment
and said 'How should I know, that's 200 miles from here!' and hung up.
The husband said 'Who was that?'
The wife said, 'I don't know, some woman wanting to know if the coast is clear.'

My Dad

Fri, 2010-07-16 09:49

I took my dad shopping the other day to buy him some new shoes (he is 84). We decided to grab a bite at a small cafe. I noticed he was watching a teenager sitting at the next table

The teenager had spiked hair in all different colours: green, red, orange, and blue.

My dad just kept on staring at him.

The teenager would look up from time to time and find him still staring. When the teenager had had enough, he sarcastically asked, 'What's the matter old man, never done anything wild in your life?'

My Dad, without batting an eyelid, replied, "Got pissed once and rooted a peackock. I was just wondering if you were my son"

Die hards

Sat, 2010-07-17 19:45

Saturday morning I got up early, quietly dressed, made my lunch, grabbed the dog, and slipped quietly into the garage.

I hooked up the boat up to the truck, and proceeded to back out into a torrential downpour.

The wind was blowing 50 KTS, so I pulled back into the garage, turned on the radio, and discovered that the weather would be bad all day.

I went back into the house, quietly undressed, and slipped back into bed.

I cuddled up to my wife's back, now with a different anticipation, and whispered, 'The weather out there is terrible.'

My loving wife of 10 years replied, 'Can you believe my stupid husband is out fishing in that?'
