fuel tank and fuel lines

 morning ladies and gents

Three questions for you today

1. i have my fuel tank out of the boat and empty been out for about a week.

my question is, iam wanting to wash the inside of the tank out incase there is any sludge/slime in the bottom. anyone use a particular chemical or technique?

looking at the gunk in the fuel filler hose iam certain there would be sludge in the bottom of tank

2. also replacing all fuel lines and finding it hard to locate a shop to purchase from NOR any ideas on where to buy from?

3. Could also be looking at replacing the fuel gauge in tank. Do you need to calibrate these or are they a simple replacement?

thanks for any help

also iam aware that the fuel lines need to be a certain class of hose and i'll be using all top notch hose clamps

can you access the inside via an inspection hatch or only wash out via filler?
If only the filler just put some degreaser in, leave it to soak and shake it around for a while then wash it out. Flush thoroughly with water then let it dry in the sun, maybe make up a cardboard funnel and let it sit so the breeze moves air thru the tank, flush with half a litre of petrol lastly.

Anything that wont move after that wont be a problem.

Fuel lines you should be able to get from Couplers,

ive cleaned out a few tanks over the years with Kero and a shovel full of blue metal and drive it round on the back of the ute for a few days, or give it a real good shake lol

Fuel line

hey gilly

people Like  Enzed or hose doctor sell quality fuel line, any hydraulic hose supplier would be able to help you.

In regards to your fuel tank sender unit I think you have to get the correct ohms to match the dash gauge and calibration is done by shortening or lengthening the float arm.
