Fraser 626-Suzuki 200hp 4cyl (DF200A)

I am from Newcastle NSW, and I have bought a fraser formula 626 off a mate ( minus a motor). I know they are a highly regarded boat in WA, but I am having trouble finding specifications on these, eg weight, max engine capacity etc. The more info I can find on the 626 the better.
It has an alloy tubular pod on the back, twin 110 ltr fuel tanks and previously had a 200hp 2 stroke saltwater series Mounted on it.
I am thinking of puting a Suzuki 4 stroke on the back (not sure what size is best for this boat), probably the new 200hp 4 cylinder lean burn Suzuki, has any one got one of these new engines? if so what are their thoughts? would this boat be more suited to the V6 Suzuki?
Or Will I be Overpowering it, would a smaller 4 stroke do the job ?
Any thoughts, comments or information on this would be greatly appreciated.

We have had one of the new DF200A's on the back of a 6.5m Ali since march and it goes really well. Gets up to around 36knots at wot and at a cruise speed of 22knots uses just over 1 litre per nm. I think it would probably suit your boat well.

Cheers thanks mate, I am leaning towards the 200A, how much does your boat weigh?

I really like the Suzuki's, did you ever consider the v6?

Im not 100% but I think our boat weighs around 1.7t with motor, full fuel tanks, anchors and a bit of other gear. We originally had an older V6 225 johnson 4 stroke (rebadged suzuki) on the back and this pushed the boat a bit faster at WOT and had lower cruising revs but did use a bit more fuel all up for distance travelled. We opted for the 200A as opposed to a newer 225 to save some weight and save more on fuel with the lean burn technology.

DF200

I got the V6 df200 2006 model. Hull weighs about 1800 ( 6.8 plate ally ) i think including everything including full of fuel and everything i need for a long trip. i nudge 2.5 on the trailer.

I get 39 knots WOT and about 1ltr per km averaged out over the day, which includes moving spots and the run in and out. If i was going to re power i wouldnt hesitate going the V6 225 vs the 4 cyl 200. There is no replacement for displacement. I have never liked the idea of smaller engines and more power, to me it means more work for the engine and less life. My opinon anyway.

Cheers, thanks for the reply mate. Food for thought.

The only thing that I have noticed with the fraser 626 is that a lot of them seem to run smaller 2 strokes, I woder how they perform?
