Furuni FCV627 Where to buy?

Hi All- Can anyone recommend a marine shop NOR who is generally competitive and who can also fit marine electronics. I'm after a Furuno 627 and want to get one fitted by the weekend.

Also what would you expect to pay to have only a transducer fitted? I already have the Furuno mount and power cables installed from a previous model.

cheers/Ben

Actually may have just answered my own question. looking at ebay I can get one from the states delivered express to Perth before the weekend for $1000.

apart from the warranty is there any issues with installing a US sourced unit? Do they have a habit of being held up in customs? tThis would save me a minimum $350 and have no impact on waiting time.

Hi Ben,

If there arent any site sponsors NOR that are Furuno dealers then All Boats are an option. They will look after you on price and they do instalations also.

We've sold many Furuno units and whilst reliable we've had warranty claims in the past but being purchased locally it was sorted straight away. 2 year warranty if purchased in Australia and if you buy the unit from say AB they will look after you on the instal price also.

Give them a call.

Bought a lot of stuff from the states I have always paid extra to have premium freight for peace of mind. The quickest arrived in 7 days doubt you would get it before the weekend. Stay away from Koala only mob I had trouble with, if you want it by the weekend go with a local supplier.

thanks for the comments guys. after some consideration of the above comments, I think i'll stay local, mostly because I need it before the weekend and piece of mind if down the track it has a heart attack.

Ok ended up with a 627 locally (from Fremantle). Ended up installing transducer myself over the weekend. Will take it out for a test on the weekend if we finally get some half decent weather!
