Furuno 585

Well I've taken the plunge guys and bought a Furuno 585 and 1 kw tranny from the states.Cost $2100 Aud. Will keeep you all posted on progress of delivery etc. Will more than likely be asking a few questions as I install unit etc. It's going in the Quinnie passenger side on the gunwhale (just)lol. I would've made it fit somewhere ;).This should be a revelation from the Lowrance LMS 334C.

Well done

Hi mate, I have also just bought 585 and 1kw M260(shoot thru).  I bought it locally though. I finished installing it yesterday. The only thing I have to do is fill the wetbox with fluid and then screw the lid on, then good to go. With then installation, I wasn't going to do it myself, but I am glad I did in the end coz it isn't that hard, just need common sense and the correct tools, this applies to cutting the M260 box to suit the deadrise.  With an ali boat you must have gone down the transom mount hey, which would be a lot easier to fit, so you shouldn't have any issues.

A mate of mine recently bought the exact same as what you have ordered and it only took 1 week to get from the states, I don't know who he bought from though.

Cheers

Cheers for that Waverunner. Yeah have gone the transom mount. Was speaking to someone and they said the actual tranny is quite big and can create a bit of a dove tail when moving along. I'll install myself being a tradey and quite handy. Bought from the Navigation warehouse. Can't bloody wait. Are you happy with the unit? Had it running yet?
