this is how i set mine up in shallow of course when going deeper you turn your colour erase up and clutterand i usually turn my advance back to 1-1
for the bottom lock I leave it on five metres it will show you in detail the fish on the bottom 5metres no use fishing 40 metres and running your bottom lock on the same depth it wont show you the detail

Hey snapper miles I notice you have your deep gain set on high how does that how for you. Do you get much clutter etc my settings are very lose to yours except tvg med

the time varied gain only makes a difference in deeper water as the time between echos gets longer the unit applies more gain, i do fish water upto 400 metres so thats why i have mine set that way! well thats my understanding anyway

Boat one for mine with
Boat one for mine with clutter at around 10%. If shift is set too high you won't get shallow water readings. Bottom lock on 5m. I always run split screen when fishing and full screen when driving to get a better pic for picking up spots.

What does the smoothing
What does the smoothing funtion do is it to smooth out the bottom reading when in swell or choppy weather ? I run a 587
