furuno sounders

Evening all , with the new boat now arrived its time to fit it out, Im definatly going with the FCV 295 but I'm wondering if the extra coin for the 1150 is worth it ???
It basically seems to be the same but with added digitial filtering software...Is this only for pros where you are trying to pick out particular bait schools or prawns etc and would need to learn how to use it or is it a handy feature that the average fisho can use ???
Anyone with real world expierience with the two sounders ???

im looking at buying a new
im looking at buying a new sounder and was thinking of buying a fcv295 but i made a cardboard box the same dimensions as the unit and realised it was way to big for the genesis it would mean i would have to stand on a milk crate to see over the unit. What make and size boat are u getting fishfish

i have looked into it, the 295 is the same unit mate, the 1150 has the 12.5inch screen, and 1 extra filter, i have seen the 295,s and you really cannot beat them for rec fishing, they are a pro unit ,

Thanks Harro I thought you were looking at the same unit and I agree I couldnt pick any noticable differences between the two units that I could benefit from so the 295 it is then..
Biggerfish its a custom Genesis 9m x 3m, even the old one {7m Genesis } had heaps of dash space for big sounders/ monitors , actually I wish you could get the 295 in a 12" screen size, after looking at a 20" monitor in the old boat its probably going to look small....
