Congrats on the win. Its one ball tearer of a kingfish.

Well done that man
By NZ standards that fish was considered to be out of condition. An in condition fish of similar length is expected to be in the 38 - 42kg range.

Thanks
Thanks for the comments lads, it was certainly tough fishing! With around 120 anglers there were only about 22 kingfish weighed in i think the total was. Right place and right time and the faithful black Andaman = a lucky combination
My mates wife who was fishing with us also won the biggest kingfish for a female angler in the comp to caught at the same spot in 220m. It was 17kg I think.
Cheers,
Josh

yep nice work Josh, lack of fish would've made for hard jigging, especially heading out to those depths. Was Stu fishing as well or just skipper?
What was the prize?

Hi Tim
Thanks Tim, yeah mate Steve and Stu were both fishing. Once I landed my fish I drove the boat so Stu could fish for the rest of the day.
Prize was a 4 rack Bradley Smoker, a voucher for 75% off any model of Maui Jim sunglasses, a Stella 20000SW and a Shimano Blue Rose S4810F.
Cheers,
Josh
