Had a look into it and unless theres a few guys doing it it can get costly with some as a per person rate, also all the ones i looked at had extra charges whether it be rod/reel hire right through to having to pay for all the tackle/lures you lose. Do some serious research or just get drunk on the beach like i'll be doing cause i despise the joint but the Fam has their heart set on the trip

Thanks mate. I've been looking for a while and just thought someone might of had a good trip somewhere. I'm in the same boat as you, can't stand the place even though I've never been, I've managed to swing my 8 year old son my way too but my brides turning 40 so I said I'd go. Dumbarse

go with your eyes open, Lombok is a really nice place, none of the hustle and bustle of Bali. Stay in sengiggi not Kuta.

There are some really nice bays just to the north of sengiggi, talk to the locals in these quiet places they are very nice people.

Dont go with pre conceived ideas of the place, make sure you go to the markets just to the south of sengiggi umpenam I think is the place where they are its a real eye opener, eat the local food not just from the restaurants it's safe, cheap and tasty.
