Garden island restrictions

Just heard about some guys squiding 200m off the north eastern bay of garden island (where all the boats anchor for the day) and had the navy security move them on at least 500m off the shore because there is now a exclusion zone all around the island due to the raised terrorist threat. Thought he was bullshiting ! Anyone heard about this ?

Yeh, I also got moved away
Yeh, I also got moved away twice by the navy on the weekend. They said the rules have changed due to heightened security.
Bit sad when you can't have a fish in your own backyard.
They said the only area you were allowed in close was the very northern end.
i hope it's not permanent because it's not achieving anything, they couldn't stop a terrorist with one rubber ducky.

Oh, there's only been one terrorism incident in the country in the last 25 years, and that wasn't actually in the country but in Bali, place that's got nowhere near the same security we do?
