BY GEORGE! A cracking 1 hr KG session

Went Rotto way yesterday with TimVB and the Baron, plan was to have a shallow and deep sambo jig and then head to the Rotto pub for lunch. Great way to spend a work day!
Sambo jigging was quiet, hooked one or two in the shallows but got bricked on PE4, so headed deeper and nothing happening out wide.
On the way back in stopped for a quick KG fish, and it was on. KG's were thick and on the bite, chasing hooked fish to the surface, which I have not seen before. 18 kgs in an hour only limited by us running out of bait and the beer calling. Smallest was over 40cm, biggest 54 cm.
Pub was pretty good too!

Spent last 2 trips dedicated
Spent last 2 trips dedicated to kgw for absolute zilch even with the help from maggot. I did manage an 83cm dhu yesterday on the whiting rig but that got me even more depressed chucking it back than not catching whiting haha

I took my missus to this same spot 3 weeks ago, we did not get a fish.....KG's have always been a bit of a mystery to me, this was our best session by far, not sure why......

Yesterday was big for KGs
we had a huge session in 40m out of Warnbro yesterday. KG thick in willing. Biggest 57cm. Dhuies, Baldies, Black Ass the lot.
We thought luck, but seems it may have been the day. 9am was very busy.

KGs
Love your work John. Those big KGs are a mystery!
We catch most of ours as a by-catch when fishing for pinkies - usually nice fish around 50cm+ but not many. Have got onto a few schools but it is very random, and unusual.
The best multiple catches, like your's, seem to come from the broken ground around Rotto at this time of year. Perhaps a "KG Theory" post may prompt members to discuss their experiences and help us all learn?
