GME Epirb Recall

Had a look through the site and couldn't find any reference to this recall.
If you have a GME MT400/401/403 it might pay to check the serial number!!!

Epirb recall
I have just emailed them, awaiting a reply I have one of the recalled epirbs. I will report back on what they have to say.

Thanks for the post, i had heard of the recall but never got around to checking my epirb.
I have a MT 400, mine is in the recall list. It expires aug 2014, so sent off today.
This is the reply to my email i received:
Hi Paul,
Thank you for taking the time to contact GME regarding the Product Safety Recall.
Your contact information and details of the EPIRB have been entered into our National Database.
Your Reference or Return Material Authorisation (RMA) number is;
S*********
If you could please ship your EPIRB in adequate protective packaging (such as; sturdy cardboard carton, plus padding such as bubble-wrap), making clear indication of your RMA on the outside of the carton.
Please also include the street address where you would like the replacement beacon sent to.

Once your EPIRB is received and deemed to have been manufactured within the specified period and still in service, GME will then process a replacement to be dispatched to your nominated address via On-Road Courier within 24 Hours.

I spoke with Josh today from GME Canning Vale, he said all epirbs gotta be sent back to NSW Head Office.

strange i rang him 2 weeks
strange i rang him 2 weeks ago and went there had mine replaced on a friday arvo no probs mabe they ran out of stock no idea ?

to much work?
who knows, maybe he didnt aprreciate the exrtra workload!
My advice would be to ring or send some emails before you send the epirb away.
