Gnaraloo from the air

 Hi Guys

Just finished another good trip up in Gnaraloo at the end of may.

Took the DJI Mavic pro drone up and took a few pics of the station and bay.

Cheers JC85

Love the creative potential of drones.

Puts a whole different aspect on it. I've never been to Gnaraloo--those boats that appear to be moored, do they bring their own moorings up with them, or put some down and leave them?  It looks like a good place to have a running mooring, so you don't need a tender or to swim. Would there be any issues with putting a star picket on the beach to hold the onshore end of a running mooring?

Mooring

Hey mate. We bring up our own mooring. We are the closet big boat to the beach. We use a canoe to get out in the mornings.  Have seen a few tigers swimming around

I didn't plan on swimming

Stuff that, starting the day wet and cold in July.  I use my Hobie to get out to it when at Tamala, too far out for the running mooring, works a treat. I did go out to it on one of those tiny Gizmo things once, northerly blowing in, good 100 metres out, two 90kg blokes on it, they reckoned all they could see was two sets of heads and shoulders and a set of paddles going flat out.   would've been drier to swim.

Cool pics, things have progressed a bit since I was last there 10 years ago.
