Is Good Friday the most boring day of the year?
Submitted by Dale on Fri, 2010-04-02 15:19
Nothing is open, not even Bunnings, no morning paper, no footy, no nothing. I reckon it really needs to be treated like a normal public holiday, at least then some businesses still open and our options are much better. Oh well, time for a new beer.
Cheers
Dale

Net
Son in law and I grabbed Jeff's [Deepwater] net and took off down the beach to get a few mullet to take back down to Carnarvon tomorrow for bait on a possible trip out Sunday/ Monday, weather permitting.
Caught 6 small queenfish and 5 giant herring in about half and hour before the wind got too strong and sent us home with nothing else to do and all day to do it in.
One can only drink so much coffee and do sudoko for so long untill it gives you the tommy tits.

Isn't it the day they shoved him in the tomb? Crusifiction happened days ago.

For sure
So the doctors and nurses, pilots, fireman etc should have had a nice sleep in this morning.

Try getting a quick feed
along the Forrest Hwy between Perth and Bunno.... The only servo along the way was open... but everyone else had the same idea as us. No parking available for a car with trailer, even had temporary hired toilets!
Got to the Shell just as entering Bunbury and was the same....
Tried the Caltex near Condello's after Bunbury and guess what???? 3 people with boats attached did the lap and kept going.
Should have gone the old way through Mandurah and grabbed a HJ Burger on the way.
Thinking I might open a fast food store on the Forrest Hwy and open only on Xmas and Easter then retire for the rest of the year :-)
My rant for Good Friday is now over.
Cheers,
David
PS... Shit Paul glad we got the insurance company to fix our ceiling LOL.

stuff all to do, wish the
stuff all to do, wish the weather permitted me to have a lil more variety of fishing. By 8pm, flangies, me and the mrs gave into a bash at the eshed wharf. James loaded up on something with nice headshakes, guessing it for a small bronzie, as theres been numerous amounts being hauled up around the moles on a daily. Myself, got a run, tried to set it, but 100lb leader busted in half while doin it. Apart from that, stuff all else.
All in all, better than goin back to playin monopoly at home lol.
Hoping monday weather is for keeps. I need my fix, hate to see such a weekend go to waste with nothing to show for it apart from work on sunday.
Well, dunno what else to do the rest of the weekend, hope you all have something planned thats actually fun. We dont see this 4day weekend often, so the most SHOULD be made of it lol.
Btw, happy easter to all... Fishwrecked easter egg hunt anyone? Hahahaha, that'd be a sight, bunch of full fledged fishos on an easter egg hunt... Wtf moment for sure.

A complete day of rest!
No shopping... No footie... no beer (I'm having a rest). G'daughter keeping the missus happy (occupied)..So what to do? I threw a couple of rods in the car and loaded the dog. Headed up the coast for a few hours and amused myself watching the masses of 4x4s up there and trying to find a way onto the beach where campers hadn't blocked the tracks... Fished for 90 mins and caught a modest feed of bread and butters.
Home for a feed of fresh fish. Feet up on the recliner watching 13th Street stuff and an early night. Woke this morning feeling great and ready for the rest of the weekend.
Not sure what to do for the rest though.. LOL. There is footie on and the shops are open ........

I miss the paper
but not as much as i used to - When Kerry Stokes took control of The West he said his ambition was to make it as good as the Sunday Times - he's nearly succeded - i don't buy the Sunday Times as it is unadulterated crap and the West is catching up fast. But i did have nice King Prawn rolls for lunch and Cray mornay for tea.
