I stumbled across this website yesterday, haven't been through all of it, but there's heaps of info there and very detailed.

Very well known site.
Not much info for Spinning Reels but for overheads and game reels, plenty of information.
Well worth having a good look at.
I did then the best that I knew how. When I knew better, I did better.

Cheers mate. I've never really looked in to how reels work and what's inside and all, but it's actually quite interesting! At least I now have an idea of why a stella costs more than a stradic. I'm definately going to pull some older reels apart to see if i can get them in a better working state again!
