GPS/SOUNDER Lowrance HDS7-Gen2 or Furono GP1870F

Last sounder died the other weekend. I have looked at the two mentioned and both look good to me, any suggestions?

Can't comment on furono, but
Can't comment on furono, but I have the hds7 gen 2.
I love it. Very easy to use, and since I've had it I've definitely been able to find fish easier. I can read it from the back of the boat while fishing and drifting too.

Go the Lowrance
Easier to use, have had both and can't stand Furono, menus are too complicated. I have never used the manual for Lowrance

Its not really a secret that
Its not really a secret that lowrance makes an ordinary sounder, but a fairly good gps.
See if you can manage the 8" Lowrance if you really have to, the extra buttons make a world of difference.
In the same price bracket is the Raymarine e7, I would buy one of those over the Lowrance myself. They use navionics charts which I prefer to cmap, and have a neat iphone hookup as well.
Lots of info in search.

Yes, its was more a comment
Yes, its was more a comment about the Furuno, they use cmap instead.
Just pointing out you don't have to go lowrance to get navionics.

The Navonics card has to do
The Navonics card has to do with the GPS function and not a great deal at all with the fishfinding sonar function, but he, do not let a good bagging get in the way from that.
We all have our preverences and they tend to go with what we use on our boats.

The Mandurah boat show is
The Mandurah boat show is less than 3 weeks away (12-10 /14-10 - 2012) and could be of help for you to see a fair few different systems and brands all in the same place being demonstrated plus there might be some "show specials".

Anyone know how to transfer
Fishing spots from the iPad Navionics Chart app to the HDS7 Gen 2? Up until the other day I have always used my IPad as a GPS as my nephew only had a fishfinder in his boat. Now that I have my own boat with the HDS7 GPS/Fishfinder I want to transfer over everything. If I have to do it the long way it will be slow and laborious entering the Long & Lat for about 60 marks.
