Great day out!!!

Headed out early yesterday morning for a great day on the water with the lads. 30 miles off Mandurah!!! Long way but worth it.

Catch of the day was this 19.5kg Dhuy caught by felllow forum member mw87. He has been trying to crack a size Dhuy for a while now and finally caught a Thumper!! Well done Mark! It took you a while but that's ok we understand you are from the other side of the country. You folk usually take a little longer to catch on!!!

but i'm sure I read on the other post of this fish that it was 20kg? Interesting.

Perhaps the skipper keeping the crew online?

Haha, busting his balls over 500gr?!

Good fish regardless mate.

Was it on bait/jig/plastic?

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

No ball busting here

but as everyone on here know's there's a big difference between a 19kg and 20kg Dhuie.

If it's 20kg it's 20kg, it's a good Dhuie. Just thought it was interesting that the skipper had shaved 0.5kg off it

Hahaha Always believe the skipper. It actually weighed 19.43kg on the digital scales. Nice fish and went like a freight train.

Mark was using Californian Squid on a couple of snelled 7/0 when he caught it.

19.5, 19 or 20 still a damn nice fish. with fillets 557 grams only makes a a difference of 199.5 grams of fillet, less than a feed

I've just seen this post! It wasn't an accurate weight. After misjudging the strength of a fixing point that seen it fall 4ft, 3 of us tried to hold it steady for a weight, 19.43 was just one of the numbers I called out. Im more than happy with that and not going to argue with the skipper!

Cheers for "perservering" Jas haha, I believe they are out there now!
