great white shark dive
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=79790&l=f19ef&id=661257994
Hi guys having a hard time uploading photos on this site for one reason or another, think its something to do with my camera settings or something.
Anyway I did a great white shark cage dive about a month ago, ive attached a link to my facebook album, if your interested you can take a look.
There was a 4.5 metre that hung around most of the day and 4 others that came and went.
Was bloody awesome, they are an amzing creature - having said that i have bought a shark shield since and wouldnt hesitate in sending a spear into one if it got too close.
I was totally surprised how quickly they vanished into the ocean, it was a clear day but they blend in so well, 15 to 20 metres they are out of sight.
The cage got a few good knocks as they went for the bait and got trapped between the cage and the boat, but mostly they were curious, the open mouth shots are from them going after the tuna steaks they were using as bait, the cage just got in the way, even the photo of one biting the marlin board took all day to get by the deckie retrieving tuna steaks to try and lure him up, makes for a good photo though!
Anyway hope this link works ok...ill test it out myself after i post this.
Cheers.

never get sick of looking at
never get sick of looking at photos like that mate. I used to live over that way, just waiting for an excuse to head back over and get out to the Neptunes myself. Do they still rent out underwater cameras or did you use your own?

Thanks guys
Yeah its a 12 - 13 hour day, leave at 6am, 2.5 hours out from port lincoln to neptune island, 19 passnegers onboard, theyre booked out for months in advance.
Cost is about 500 per person including lunch, by the time you hire a wetty, rent an underwater camera, purchase the days still and video footage and buy a stubbie holder and 8 or 9 beers on the trip back home its around 600 bucks for the day, money well spent i reckon.
The size of most of the pics is a 4.5 metre shark. We asked them about those shark shields, they said the company tested them onboard there boat, they chummed up got heaps around, got in the cage with the shark shield off then turned it on, they said the sharks vanished at warp speed, the deckie on there swears by them.
We were the only people staying in port lincoln for any length of time since im originally from there and were visiting family, all other passengers flew in the day before did the trip and flew out the day after, from all over aus and some from overseas - japan, canada etc.
Tim yeah im trying to talk the mssus into moving back there sometime.....might get there one day, never know hey!

great white shark dive
I have done the shark dive at neptune islands, but instead of the day dives we did the 3 day live aboard and it out ranks the 1 day dive 1000 % as you get to spend about 6> 8 hours in the cage . Highly recomended
