gulps in the tropics

I was lucky enough to spend 4 days down at Channel Point out from Darwin last week. The weather was awesome and favourable tides so we were able to get out and into it each day.

The Barra were a bit slow but managed this fella off South Perron on a 'little lucifer' blue & orange

That was one of only 2 Barra for the trip, dropped several others but they were all around the same size.

Had some very good sessions with the Berkley Gulps. Big Black Jews, the best went 1110mm and plenty of tasty Goldies were great fun on a little 2-4kg Dropshot and 6inch placcies.

Had that little Plefluger hummin!

MMM Goldies for dinner

Awesome part of the world!

A great part of the world for

A great part of the world for sure Joodles.

Have been lucky enough to do two trips to the NT over the past two years.

We stay at Dundee Beach and i have fished the North Perron quite a few times. It is a long haul fron Dundee especially if the wind comes up but worth the effort.

We target goldies in shallow water there and fish further out for everything.

Most of our Barra fishing is done at the Finnis River which gets a bit like Hay St in April-May with all the charter boats taking day trippers from Dundee.

Every second bloke in NT must be a charter boat operator me thinks.

If I am really lucky I may get another chance to go in 2012- two weeks of pure bliss, fishing every day and 30 degrees temp.

Never thought I would say this but I actually got sick of fishing in May this year, 14 days away and fished for 12 of them.
