Heading to hamlin bay in a few weeks just wondering what the diving is like down that way its our first time down there. we will be taking a small runabout we can jump off or happy to do a shore dive if the swells permit. Any suggestions or just the usual find some ground and have a look.
Cheers

Never done any diving there myself
But a mate of mine used to dive there, not too far out from the ramp he reckons and was catching big abs and nice crays

I've done over a 100 dives around the Island over many years....there is some great diving on the south western side of the island...don't be scared to get right up next to the island..there are some great big holes to be found...but only on a low swell.
I'll be down 4-7 Dec myself, so if you are there then roddo, contact me.
Cheers Pete

Haven't headed north too much but plenty of ground in either direction. Can be a bit weedy in some spots but still easy enough to find ledges holding crays. Island is good as mentioned and foul bay is good for crays and abs. Have had no drama launching a tinnie under 2.5m swell but definitely worth watching what the water/swell is doing at the ramp. Augusta marina is only a small drive away if it looks dicey.
